Chris Goddard

Chris started his working career at Tiwai Aluminium Smelter and spent nearly every weekend exploring Fiordland. Even after his career took him and his family overseas, they returned often to reconnect to the place.

He has had a 30-year career in mining and project management and says that after 30 years of mining, you get a real understanding of what is needed to keep society going. Places such as Piopiotahi are absolutely precious and will become more so over time

“Doing something truly different really appeals. Visitors leaving the place better than they found it, listening to the cultural stories of a place, being able to conserve a place, decarbonising the journey all together – all of these are something truly different. If you are lucky, you may get one chance in a career to work on something that leaves a positive enduring legacy. This is my chance to do that and to give something back to a place that I love.”

The team is in the process of being appointed and will be listed here when all are confirmed.
